Millet Specifications For Submitted Jobs

1. Please do NOT submit any jobs using any of the PC-based word processing programs, such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.

2. Page layout should be done using Adobe InDesign or QuarkExpress; preferably Mac OS X or Windows XP versions.

3. For multi-page documents, create pages as individuals in reader order, rather than spreads.

4. Please send all fonts that were used to create the document, including both screen and printer fonts if Abobe Type 1 is used.

5. Logos and other vector art should be done in Adobe Illustrator; and all type in logos should be converted to outlines.

6. Be sure to include all high-res images and linked graphics that were used in the layout. Please do not embed any images into the layout or into  Illustrator; place them as links.

7. Please do not set type in Photoshop if it can be avoided; with the exception of special effects to type which must be done in Photoshop, all lines of type should be set in the page layout software.

8. Please include a laser printout of the document if possible. If not, send a PDF along with the document for us to use as a reference.

9. All pictures need to be at least 300dpi resolution for best quality. Anything less than this may result in an inferior reproduction. Colors should be either CMYK or Grayscale, never RGB. Do not use a compression format such as JPG; instead use TIF or EPS.

10. For complex images that use multiple layers/effects in Photoshop, we ask that the designer’s layered file be sent along with the flattened (placed) image, in case we need to make adjustments.

11. All images, tint boxes, etc. that go to the edge of a page must have at least 1/16", preferably 1/8" bleed past the trim line.

12. Please include the designer’s name and contact information so that we may reach them if there is a problem or question.
